GENERAL QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR HOTEL IN NEW ORLEANS

The Royal St. Charles Hotel is located on the corner of St. Charles Avenue and Common Street.
Canal Street intersects with St. Charles Avenue at the end our block.
Canal Street, known as neutral ground, defines the European-settled French Quarter from the American established Central Business District or CBD. On opposite sides of Canal Street, the street is the same, but the names change when you crossover. So, don’t get lost on the street name!
The hotel is conveniently located across the French Quarter, on one side of Canal Street while the hotel is located on the opposite side of Canal Street.
Bourbon Street is across Canal Street and one block to the left.
Harrah’s Casino is 3 blocks to the right on Canal Street.
The Superdome is 10 blocks away, approximately a 20-minute walk or a 5-minute taxi or Uber ride.
Chase Bank located across the hotel is open weekdays until 5 pm.
Capitol One Bank is located at 137 Royal Street across Canal Street and is open weekdays until 5 pm and until 1 pm on Saturdays.

TRANSPORTATION & PARKING
While the hotel doesn’t have our own Airport Shuttle service, you can find prices and make reservations by clicking here: Airport Shuttle
Taxis are available curbside for a one-way flat fee and starts at $35 + $15 for each additional passenger. Airport Shuttle service starting at $24 per person is an affordable option for a single person. Uber/Lyft service will use the prevailing rates on your mobile app.
It is a 10-minute taxi or Uber/Lyft ride to the Cruise Port.
It is a 5-minute taxi or Uber ride from the train station to the hotel.
It is a 5-minute taxi or Uber ride from the Greyhound bus drop-off location.
The pickup and drop off area for guests is located on Common Street.
Valet only parking is available and starts at $38 + tax per day. Self-parking is not available. We are not able to valet park certain oversized vehicles, specialty cars or motorcycles.
While we are not affiliated with any self-parking garage, we find that website ParkingPanda.com provides nearby parking options for self-parking and oversized vehicles. Many guests find the most convenient option to be 166 Roosevelt Way, which starts at $20 a day, but prices can escalate during special events.
Street parking around the hotel is free in the evenings, Sundays and some holidays; but it can be challenging to snag a spot.
Valet parking may not be available for certain oversized vehicles. Visit ParkingPanda.com to find nearby locations for oversized vehicles.
There is street parking in the neighborhood, but not always available and you would have to pay a meter rate, which varies on the day, time and location of the street parking.
We have an ideal loading/unloading zone for large motor coaches and buses that aren’t always available for hotels on narrow streets. While we don’t have parking for these large vehicles, the Convention Center Lot J Parking Lot in front of Mardi Gras World is where most buses park.
There is a secure parking garage at the cruise terminal to park your vehicle during your cruise.
RESERVATIONS
At least one guest per room must be 21 years of age or older in order to reserve and stay in the room.
We do not allow pets, but we do permit Service Animals as officially designated by the American with Disabilities Act.
Deposit and cancellation policies vary, depending on the type of rate plan or special event periods.
Group guests have specific deposit and cancellation policies that they get from their group planner.
A valid credit card is required to make a reservation.
Your credit card will be charged based on the deposit and cancellation policies of your reservation.
Check-in time is any time after 4 pm.
Early Check-In is subject to availability and there may be an Early Check-In Fee. Your luggage can be stored until your room is ready.
Check out time is any time before 11 am.
Late Check-Out is subject to availability and there may be a Late Check-Out Fee. Your luggage can be stored up until 11 pm of your Check-out Day.
Luggage storage is available until your room is ready at check-in or until 11 pm on the day of your check-out.
An unexpired, government issued ID with photo such as a passport, driver’s license or state ID is required to check-in. We may also require a confirmation number from the hotel or third party that you booked with.
We require a credit or debit card to check in, which will be authorized for $50 per day for any incidental charges such as parking, PJ’s coffee, beverages, amenity fee or room damages. Any unused portions will be released and could take 3 – 7 business days, depending on your financial institution’s policies.
A mandatory daily Amenity Fee is charged to each guest room and includes the following:

- Use of in-room safe
- Unlimited local and long distance calling within the US
- Mardi Gras Beads
- 2 Welcome Cocktails
- Afternoon King Cake flavored tastings
- In-room coffee replenished
This fee is charged whether the services are used or not used.
WiFi is bundled in the daily Amenity Fee.
HOTEL FACILITIES/AMENITIES AND SERVICES
There are 143 rooms on 10 floors.
The hotel has 3 elevators.
The hotel and front desk is open 24-hours a day.
The hotel is 100% smoke free. There is a fee for smoking in the room and smoking guests could be evicted without refund.
The hotel does not have a swimming pool, but can give directions to nearby hotels that allow pool access for a fee.
The hotel does not have a bar, but PJ’s sells beer and the front desk sells hurricane daiquiris and beer 24 hours a day.
The hotel has a fitness center on the 3rd floor with a stationary bicycle, elliptical, treadmills and weights.
There are ice machines on floors on all floors except for the lobby and 3rd floor.
There is a business desk with a computer and printer for printing boarding passes and small tasks.
A beverage vending machine is located in the Fitness Center on the 3rd floor. A snack vending machine is located in the lobby.
Yes. there is an ATM in the lobby.

Our Balcony King Rooms, 2 Queen Suite and King Suite have balconies and are located on the 2nd floor. The balconies have one table and two chairs.
The Mardi Gras parade can be seen from the balcony rooms, but certain rooms are on the side, towards the back of the building.
Wheelchair accessible rooms are available on each floor and features press button entry, lowered peepholes, turnaround space, additional grab bars and hand-held showers. There are two rooms with roll-in showers. Shower benches and toilet stools are also available. These rooms are not actively sold except to guests that require these lifestyle features
Rooms do not have a microwave, but there is a microwave in the lobby to use any time of day.
A mini refrigerator can be rented for a fee, based on availability.
Due to the size of our rooms, roll-aways or cots are not available. Guests must use existing bedding and some categories do not accommodate more than 2 people per room.
Baby cribs are available for a fee, but not all rooms have the square footage to accommodate a baby crib.
Daily Housekeeping service is provided with most rate plans.

DINING
Breakfast is not included in the room rate.
PJ’s Coffee is located in our lobby and serves coffee, tea, espresso drinks and cold drinks. A variety of pastries, muffins, bagels, croissants, breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal and snacks are also available.
Daisy Duke’s Diner is around the corner from the hotel and serves breakfast 24 hours a day.
PJ’s Coffee is open from 6:30 am daily with various closing times.
